The My Famicase Exhibition is an annual art show of fan-made Nintendo Famicom cartridge designs hosted by METEOR, an art gallery based in Tokyo, Japan.
As I work on this page I'm in my third consecutive year of joining the event, below you will find my entries that have (and have not) made it over the years.
Check the official website to know more about METEOR.
"Ruthless bandits have stolen the flame and plunged the world into darkness. Lead Domingo on the hunt for the five bandits and bring light back into your life."
My most recent entry: a puzzle game set in the Wild West!
Like many of my pieces, the idea was to use a very limited palette for this illustration, particularly to highlight the flame element that is also central to the gameplay.
I'm also planning to make some concepts for this submission (maybe it could become a real game...)
"TICK-TOCK TICK-TOCK... Time is running out and these bombs are about to explode!
Red wire? Blue wire? Which one to cut? Choose wisely in this explosive puzzle game!"
In 2025, after being admitted to the event for the second year in a row, I took advantage of a trip in Tokyo to visit the exhibition in person and finally met Satoshi Sakagami, the organizer and owner of the METEOR Club, the art gallery hosting the event.
That day I also ate the best ramen of my life.
"Your wish has finally come true and you are young again, but oh no! You have to go back to school now!"
In 2024, I decided I would participate at all costs and began my entry months early. As usual, my good intentions faded, and I found myself rushing through the final weeks.
Despite the rush I made it!
The game is a visual novel in which, after wishing you were a child again, you realize you're forced to go back to school. It's inspired by a recurring nightmare of mine where I had to retake high school exams.
This piece earned a mention on Aftermath
The first exhibition dates back to 2005, but I only discovered it almost 20 years later, in 2023, when I attempted to participate with this textmode art.
The underlying idea is an adventure game in which a small robot awakens in an uninhabited world where the absence of man has allowed nature to take over.
Unfortunately the piece was not finished in time and so I missed the opportunity to submit it.
